Our Mission
Chopsticks Alley Art promotes Southeast Asian cultural heritage through the shared creative expression of art. We provide support and promote artists through art exhibits, classes, performances, and events. We celebrate the cultural diversity of Southeast Asian contemporary art to foster greater understanding and connect communities through the arts.
We serve young Southeast Asian artists, low-income families, elders, the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals with differing abilities.

Executive Artistic Director
Trami Cron
Founder of Chopsticks Alley Art and Chopsticks Alley multi-media publication. She is a cultural organizer, producer, and host of Chopsticks Alley talk show, podcast, and author of VietnamEazy. She is an Emerging Arts Professional San Francisco Fellow and has a Business Marketing degree from the University of Utah.
Talent, Host, Producer
Juicy Liu
Juicy Liu is a San Francisco based Drag Queen, and, as a transplant from her native Dallas, she learned the power of big, beautiful, blonde hair. Juicy got her start in San Francisco raising funds for her gay softball team, the Dragons, selling Jello shots and raffle tickets at Toad Hall in the Castro. Over the years, Juicy has been able to raise over $50K for many nonprofits in the Bay Area, including the San Francisco AIDS Foundation through AIDS/Lifecycle. A self-proclaimed “drag activist comedy queen,” Juicy has performed with the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus and first competed at the San Francisco Gay Softball League’s annual fundraiser, the Switchhitter’s ball. After winning the GAPA Runway Pageant in 2016 and being crowned Miss GAPA (Gay Asian Pacific Alliance) 2016, she started her own monthly show, JuicyThots in 2018, at The Lookout to showcase Queer and Trans Performers of Color. Juicy continues to use her platform to bring more awareness and visibility to the Queer and Trans Asian and Pacific Islander community in the Bay Area and beyond.

Harleen Kaur
Harleen is a freshman at Foothill College pursuing her B.A. in philosophy. She ran her high school’s newspaper as a managing editor for PHHS The Legend. Dedicating two years as an editor for the The Legend she was inducted into the Quill and Scroll Honor Society as a lifetime member. Growing up in San Jose, Harleen hopes to write about and amplify the voices of the Vietnemese and Pinoy community that she is surrounded by. Harleen hopes to attend law school in the future and become a lawyer who will give back to her community.

Cynthia Cao
A visual artist primarily known for her intaglio prints and watercolors. As an arts educator, she has led workshops at the Vietnamese-American Community Center, served as Gallery Teacher at the San Jose Museum of Art, and taught in private art studios in the South Bay. She is the Exhibition Designer and Teaching Artist for Chopsticks Alley Art, a non-profit dedicated to promoting Southeast Asian cultural heritage, and has worked as an Art Preparator at the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art since 2015. She also works as the Gallery Technical Coordinator for the Natalie and James Thompson Art Gallery which coordinates over 120 exhibitions each year. She earned her BFA in Pictorial Arts with a Minor in Art History & Visual Culture from San Jose State University.

Jennifer Tran
Jennifer has a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of California, Riverside. Her passion for studying trends, analytics, and the arts drive her to discover the ‘why’ behind various aspects of the changing Vietnamese-American demographic. She likes to spend time with her cat, eat at new local restaurants, and read adventure novels.

Martin Mijares
Martin is a photographer and analyst turned UX Designer. His academic background is in the social sciences, specifically an MA in Sociology (feel free to bring up social theory or statistical modeling with multiple variables any time). The multidisciplinary skillset gained from Sociology gives him a solid toolkit that can apply to the Design Thinking process, essentially improving the user's experience from the digital to the real world.

Esther Young
Esther is a "writer at heart," an event coordinator by profession and a shy but earnest songwriter for life. Her lifelong mission is to tell conscious stories and foster gatherings that facilitate the ways we seek to be understood and connect authentically. She believes every neighborhood and person is brimming with creation and complexity, and that learning to move with compassion is one of the best uses of her time.

Ashley Hin
Ashley is a landscape architecture student and freelance illustrator based in the Bay Area. She hopes to explore more about her own Southeast Asian culture, and also encourages others to do the same. Ashley believes that creativity and culture go hand in hand. When she is not working on her creative projects, she enjoys swimming, gardening, and baking.
