“Bầu Cua Cá Cọp” Gourd, Crab, Fish, Tiger
Salon-Style Anniversary Exhibition
February 6 – May 1, 2026
Chopsticks Alley Art Gallery

38 S 2nd Street, San José, CA
Submission Deadline: November 30, 2025

Chopsticks Alley Art is turning 8 in 2026!

In many Asian cultures, the number 8 symbolizes prosperity, harmony, and infinity. Its shape reflects endless connection and balance—values that resonate deeply with our community-driven mission.

To honor this milestone, we are curating a dynamic Salon-style exhibition inspired by “Bầu Cua Cá Cọp”—a traditional Vietnamese game often played during Tết (Lunar New Year). The game, featuring a gourd, crab, fish, tiger, chicken, and shrimp, symbolizes luck, cultural heritage, risk, chance, and joy. It’s a reflection of life’s colorful unpredictability and interconnectedness—perfectly echoing the diverse journeys of our artists.

We are seeking 88 artists—a mix of past exhibitors and new voices—to submit artwork and poetry. All Themes are accepted!

Let’s roll the dice, honor our roots, and imagine the future—together.

Join us in celebrating 8 lucky years of community, creativity, and cultural storytelling.
