Release...Reconnect...Reclaim

Chopsticks Alley Art created AAh Convenings as a place for
Asian American to meet in a natural park setting to address mental health challenges they face in times of Covid and systemic racism towards
Asian Americans.
Connecting through storytelling, meditation, and art-making.
Quarterly AAh..Convenings
Every gathering will begin with the group coming together in a short group meditation to reconnect with nature and our bodies. We engage visual artists and poets to share stories and encourage participants to speak about life's challenges
Attendees will then participate in meditation and artmaking activities to
Release, Reconnect, and Reclaim their Identities, Power, and Self.
Our goal is to continue providing AAh Convenings every quarter to stay connected with our Asian community and continue building a support system for each other.
We will share our sessions with you so you may duplicate them in your own communities.

How participants felt after an AAh session
"I love the pan Asian energy."
"I like both free and structured. I think for this event it was great that it was a free day because not everyone knew each other. Building those connections is awesome and will also make folks feel more included..."
"I think it was a magical."
"Everyone that I met were very kind and had a lot of knowledge to share. I would love to come back..."
"The topic was powerful. It was empowering to hear other people sharing their experiences in a safe space and I felt safe and seen to do the same."
